Every Live Music Venue in Nashville’s Wedgewood-Houston

Wedgewood-Houston — WeHo to locals — is where Nashville’s art scene and music scene share a warehouse wall. The neighborhood grew up around old factories, and the venues still carry that convert-it-and-see energy. Five venues, from The Basement’s cellar stage to a 30,000-seat soccer stadium, with Jack White, Miranda Lambert, and Bleachers all on recent booking lists.

1. The Basement

1604 8th Avenue South, Nashville, TN

The original cellar full of noise, one of the best places in Nashville to catch a band right before they blow up. The Basement books indie, Americana, folk, rock, and genuinely strange things on two stages — the main room on 8th Avenue South and The Basement East across the river — with New Faces Night every Tuesday showcasing emerging local artists. Consistently one of the most respected rooms in the city for artist discovery. thebasementnashville.com

2. The Truth

440 Chestnut St, Nashville, TN

A Live Nation-operated concert hall in WeHo booking mid-to-large touring acts across country, rock, and indie genres. Recent shows have included Jack White, Bleachers, Miranda Lambert, Switchfoot, and Amyl and the Sniffers — a booking range that covers more ground than most Nashville venues attempt. One of the newer purpose-built concert rooms in Nashville and already one of the most active. thetruthnashville.com

3. GEODIS Park

501 Benton Ave, Nashville, TN

Home of Nashville SC, the city’s Major League Soccer team, and the largest soccer-specific stadium in the United States at 30,000 seats. Books major concerts when the schedule allows — stadium-scale shows that turn the whole WeHo neighborhood into a pregame. Check the GEODIS Park events calendar separately from the Nashville SC schedule for concert announcements. geodispark.com

4. Lulo Soundroom

1046 3rd Ave S, Nashville, TN

A dedicated listening room and recording space in the WeHo corridor, hosting intimate shows and private events in a room designed for sound quality first. Smaller capacity than The Basement or The Truth, with a focus on original music in a proper listening environment. lulosoundroom.com

5. The Vinyl Lounge

114 12th Ave N, Nashville, TN

A neighborhood bar and music space with occasional live programming alongside a record-focused aesthetic. More local hangout than destination venue, but consistent with WeHo’s general vibe of music-adjacent everything. thevinyllounge.com

What Is Wedgewood-Houston?

Wedgewood-Houston sits just south of downtown Nashville, roughly bounded by 8th Avenue South, Wedgewood Avenue, and Houston Street. It developed as Nashville’s art district over the past decade, converting former industrial buildings into galleries, studios, restaurants, and event spaces. First Saturday art crawls bring the neighborhood to life monthly, drawing a crowd more likely to be a working Nashville musician than a tourist.

The music scene here is the opposite of Broadway — original acts, tickets required, smaller rooms, and a crowd that came specifically to hear whoever is playing. WeHo is where you go when you want Nashville without the neon.

Getting there: WeHo is a 10-minute drive or rideshare from downtown. Street parking is available on 8th Avenue South and the surrounding blocks; parking gets tight on GEODIS Park event nights.
